Summer Dance at EBA!

June 17-August 17, 2019

Join us for the full 9 weeks of classes, or enjoy a flexible summer schedule by registering for 6 weeks. This option allows you to attend 6 of the 9 weeks of classes. Weeks attended do not have to be consecutive.

Please note that the following classes are ONLY available for the 6-week option or punch card option, and classes will be held between June 17-August 3, 2019-

All sections of: Diamonds and Sapphires, Pointe 1/2 and 3/4, Modern 1 and 2/3, Lyrical Jazz 1 and 2, Strengthening for Dancers, Floorbarre 2, Jazz Funk, and Leaps and Turns.

Summer Classes and Camps

In the Summer, our class schedule, level separation/combination, and level requirements differ from the regular school year.  For Summer 2019, Ballet levels are named after beautiful gems, and you will see some fun offerings exclusive to summer session. In most cases, EBA dancers will stay with their current level for the summer, and promotion detailed on their placement forms will begin in Fall 2019.

Crystals: Current Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet 1 Dancers
Pearls: Current Pre-Ballet 2 and Ballet 1.1 Dancers
Rubies: Current Ballet 1.2, 2.1, and 2.2 Dancers
Emeralds: Current Ballet 3 and 4.1 Dancers
Sapphires: Current Ballet 4.2 and 5.1 Dancers
Diamonds: Current Ballet 5.2, 6.1, and 6.2 Dancers

Level Requirements and Recommendations

Crystals
Required: 1 class per week
Recommended Elective: Jazz/Tap Combo

Pearls
Required: 1 class per week
Recommended Electives: Jazz/Tap Combo 1

Rubies
Required: 1 class per week
Recommended Electives: Jazz/Tap Combo 2, Tumbling 1, Musical Theater, and Hip Hop 1

Emeralds
Required: 2 Ballet Technique classes per week and Floorbarre 1
Recommended Electives: Contemporary, Tumbling 1 or 2, Hip Hop 1or 2

Sapphires
Required: 5 classes per week minimum
Choose from: Ballet Technique-Sapphires, Pointe 1/2, Modern 1, Lyrical Jazz 1, Strengthening for Dancers, Floorbarre 2, Leaps and Turns, Tumbling 2, Hip Hop 2, and Jazz Funk.

Diamonds
Required: 5 classes per week minimum
Choose from: Ballet Technique-Diamonds, Pointe 3/4, Modern 2/3, Lyrical Jazz 2, Strengthening for Dancers, Leaps and Turns, Floorbarre 2, Tumbling 2, Hip Hop 2, and Jazz Funk.

The following are drop-in classes available to community dancers, and no prior registration is required. All classes are $10, cash or check, paid upon arrival at the front desk. Dancers are given a punch card, and after 10 classes are punched, the 11th class is free! Cards may also be paid in full for $100 and the card will be used to track your attendance.

Dance Magic Ages 3-5

Camp Leaders: Mayling Zito
Introduce your young dancer to the magic and joy of dance in a nurturing and inspiring environment. Basic ballet vocabulary is introduced, and spatial awareness, movement comfort, basic rhythm, coordination, and motor skills are developed. In this creative and fun camp, students also have opportunities to explore spontaneous self-expression through movement. A student’s imagination is developed as we play engaging and educational games. Come join the magic and watch your dancer perform in a Showcase the last day of camp.

Discover the joy, fun and creativity of dance through the music and stories from classic fairy tales including Sleeping BeautyCinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Come join the fun and develop basic movement comfort, rhythm skills, musicality, coordination, and spatial awareness while being transported through a magical world of dance! We’ll dance, sing, create arts and crafts and stage a magical performance at the end of the week.
