Summer Dance at EBA!

June 18-August 18, 2018

Join us for the full 9 weeks of classes, or enjoy a flexible summer schedule by registering for 6 weeks. This option allows you to attend 6 of the 9 weeks of classes. Weeks attended do not have to be consecutive.

Please note that the following classes are ONLY available for the 6 week option, and classes will be held between June 18-August 4, 2018-

All sections of: Ballet 5.1 and 5.2, Ballet 5.3 and 6, Pointe 1 and 2, and Pointe 3 and 4. Strengthening for Dancers and the Saturday section of Creative Movement.

Summer Classes and Camps

In the Summer, our class schedule, level separation, and level requirements differ from the regular school year. You will see some fun offerings exclusive to summer session, as well some combined levels:

Pre-Ballet= Pre-Ballet 1 and Pre-Ballet 2
Ballet 1= Ballet 1.1 and Ballet 1.2
Ballet 2= Ballet 2.1 and Ballet 2.2
Ballet 3= Ballet 3.1 and Ballet 3.2
Ballet 4= Ballet 4.1 and Ballet 4.2

Level Requirements and Recommendations

Pre-Ballet
Required: 1 class per week
Recommended Elective: Jazz/Tap Combo

Ballet 1
Required: 1 class per week
Recommended Electives: Jazz/Tap Combo 1 or 2, Tumbling 1, and/or Hip Hop

Ballet 2
Required: 1 class per week
Recommended Electives: Jazz/Tap Combo 2, Tumbling 1, and/or Hip Hop

Ballet 3
Required: 2 Ballet Technique classes per week and Floorbarre
Recommended Electives: Tumbling 1, Hip Hop, and/or Beg/Int Contemporary Dance

Ballet 4
Required: 2 Ballet Technique classes per week and Floorbarre
Recommended Electives: Tumbling 1 or 2, Hip Hop, and Beg/Int Contemporary Dance

Required: 5 classes per week minimum

Dancers explore concepts of improvisation, partnering (contact improvisation), composition, somatics, conditioning, and performance theory. We will be acknowledging contributions from African American vernacular, jazz, and hip hop dance artists.

Introduce your young dancer to the magic and joy of dance in a nurturing and inspiring environment. Basic ballet vocabulary is introduced, and spatial awareness, movement comfort, basic rhythm, coordination, and motor skills are developed. In this creative and fun camp, students also have opportunities to explore spontaneous self-expression through movement. A student’s imagination is developed as we play engaging and educational games. Come join the magic and watch your dancer perform in a Showcase the last day of camp.

Discover the joy, fun and creativity of dance through the music and stories from classic fairy tales including Sleeping BeautyCinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Come join the fun and develop basic movement comfort, rhythm skills, musicality, coordination, and spatial awareness while being transported through a magical world of dance! We’ll dance, sing, create arts and crafts and stage a magical performance at the end of the week.

Dance Extravaganza
Ages 8-11 (7 year olds may be eligible if 2+ years of dance and faculty approval)

Join us for an explosive, fun-filled week of dancing, crafting, field trips and fun.  Students will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of dance styles from ballet, lyrical, and contemporary to jazz, musical theater, modern and hip hop. This dance sampler camp will inspire the young dance enthusiast and allow them the opportunity to find what dance form motivates them most. Don’t forget to bring your cameras for the Final End of Camp Show, to capture the moments and create lasting memories.

Rose Children’s Theatre/EBA Collaboration Triple Threat Camp

July 23rd – August 3rd, two-week camp, Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
6th-12th Grade
Artistic Team lead by Mark Van Beever
Tuition, $400 (sibling discounts and scholarships available)

Our Triple Threat Camp is back and it’s bigger and better than ever! By staff and parent request, the Triple Threat camp is now a two week camp. Our enhanced format will include more individual and ensemble work with vocal, dance and acting skill building. Actors will present a review performance for family and friends on the last day of camp.
