The Aspirant Program

The Aspirant Program focuses on intense regular interaction with Eugene Ballet’s professional dancers and choreographers, where students study, rehearse and gain experience in a professional setting. Direct interaction with these professional artists provides Aspirants with educational advantages including accelerated training at the company level and integration into the daily conditioning, rehearsal and performance of ballet pieces associated with Eugene Ballet.

This program is designed for students who have recently graduated from their local academy, completed their collegiate training, or have participated in another professional company training program, and are on a career track to dance professionally.

Aspirants are provided opportunities to perform in Eugene Ballet’s repertory throughout the year.  Aspirants will have the opportunity to work with guest choreographers and stagers in rehearsals alongside company members.

The Aspirant Program is a two-year program that follows Eugene Ballet Academy’s season calendar, September through May. The program is limited to seven Aspirants each season and those selected for the program will receive a full tuition waiver to the Eugene Ballet Academy for the training associated with the Aspirant Program.

Previous graduates of the Aspirant Program have gone on to secure jobs in professional dance companies throughout the country, including here at Eugene Ballet where over half of the current season’s Company Dancers completed the Aspirant Program.

Selection to the Aspirant Program is through audition. For more information on Eugene Ballet’s Open Auditions click here.
