Eugene Ballet’s 2022/23 expanded regular season presents unforgettable and multifaceted world premieres and classic works at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.
One of the greatest romantic ballets of all time, The Sleeping Beauty is a perennial favorite delighting dance fans of all ages. The timeless fairytale—our November season opener—features grand sets, intricate costumes, Tchaikovsky’s powerful score, and a cast of beloved characters.
Wrap up your holiday season with a trip to our Land of the Sweets at The Nutcracker, with live music by Orchestra Next. This season we’ve added more opportunities to see this warm, classic family ballet, including a Christmas Eve performance!
In February, experience the world premiere of Suzanne Haag’s Petrushka. In Haag’s futuristic recasting of this classic ballet, dancers portray robots attempting to navigate their enigmatic human emotions as Orchestra Next plays Stravinsky’s powerful score. The all-Stravinsky program includes Toni Pimble’s Rite of Spring and Melissa Bobick’s Apollon Musagète.
Daring, brave, and BOLD contemporary works by guest choreographers, and new work from Resident Choreographer Suzanne Haag comprise this fearless program. At BOLD, stunning choreography is set on Eugene Ballet dancers that goes Beyond Our Love of Dance.
Journey to the ocean’s ethereal depths at Toni Pimble’s world premiere of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairytale, The Little Mermaid. Incredible costumes, exquisite choreography, and gorgeous visuals transport the audience to a mystical watery world as Orchestra Next plays Claude Debussy’s beautiful music.
