Taming of the Shrew

May 14 – 15, 2022
Silva Concert Hall | Hult Center

William Shakespeare’s most controversial play is transformed to a whimsical and gritty new world in Toni Pimble’s Taming of the Shrew. A world premiere, the underground mood of steampunk-inspired costumes and sets will delight and mesmerize audiences. Orchestra Next plays Louise Farrenc’s tantalizing music in Pimble’s other-worldly re-imagining of the bard’s darkest work.

“All the music is from the great female composer Louise Farrenc. For many music aficionados this will be the first time they will hear her music played live in a concert hall by OrchestraNext.”
