Hip Hip, Competition Team
Lauren Diama was born and raised in Eugene. She began dancing at age ten at Unity School of Dance in Springfield, Oregon under the director Eileen King. After training in several dance styles, she proceeded to audition for the studio’s Performance Companies: Kings Krew, which focuses on hip-hop, street-jazz, and breakdancing, and Evolve, the contemporary/lyrical dance company. Lauren performed locally and nationally including performances at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Throughout high school, Lauren helped in various classes as a Teacher’s Assistant. While pursuing education at the University of Oregon, she joined Duck Street Dance Club, a diverse student dance club under ASUO at the University of Oregon. From 2022 to 2024, Lauren organized and taught several hip-hop workshops for college students on campus. She partnered with others to choreograph group performances that were showcased both on and off campus, including performing at the University of Oregon’s Women’s Haltime Volleyball game. Lauren joined our staff and started teaching hip-hop at the Eugene Ballet Academy in the summer of 2024. She loves the joy that can come from the expression of hip-hop and is so hyped to be instructing and choreographing the hip-hop curriculum and the EBY touring team starting this fall.
