Joshua Downard

Born in Sacramento, California, Joshua trained at Northern California Dance Conservatory. He has attended Boston Ballet School’s Summer Dance Program, Ballet Austin’s Summer Intensive, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater’s Summer Intensive while on scholarship. Joshua competed at Youth America Grand Prix in San Francisco, placing 3rd in Classical and top 12 in Contemporary. With Eugene Ballet Joshua performed notable roles such as Hans and the Nutcracker in The Nutcracker, Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty, and Gremio in Taming of the Shrew. Additionally, he has had the pleasure of working with guest choreographers such as Nicolo Fonte, Val Caniparoli, and Eva Stone. As a guest artist, he has danced principal roles such as the Prince in Cinderella, Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cavelier in The Nutcracker, and Prince Desire in The Sleeping Beauty. This is Joshua’s seventh season with Eugene Ballet. Joshua loves sharing the stage with his wife, Sarah Kosterman and sister, Noelle Louise.
