Eugene Ballet offers education opportunities throughout the season, engaging dance enthusiasts of all ages from the Eugene and Springfield communities, the state and the Northwest region.  Dance training at Eugene Ballet is supported by the Eugene Ballet Academy and the youth performing division, Eugene Youth Ballet.



Day at the Ballet

Performance: 2:00 pm Hult Center for the Performing Arts

This exciting opportunity allows students to participate in an intermediate/advanced ballet class at the Midtown Arts Center in the morning before attending the matinee performance of Mowgli – The Jungle Book Ballet at the Hult Center for Performing Arts in Eugene, OR. The class, ticket to the performance and lunch are included in the $50 fee.

Mowgli Education show

Mowgli – The Jungle Book Ballet returns after its spectacular 2012 world premiere! Experience the spirited adventures of Mowgli as he befriends and grows up with Baloo the Bear, and battles the larger-than-life Shere Khan the Tiger and Kaa the Snake. An exotic retelling of Rudyard Kipling’s stories enjoyed by all ages, with fanciful costumes, masks, sets and world music that creates the magic of young Mowgli’s life in the jungle.

Eugene, OR – Hult Center for Performing Arts

Dynamic cacti, slithering lizards, and fire dancers fill the stage in this unique modern dance experience. Under the direction of Moses Pendleton, this hour-long multimedia spectacle inspired by the flora and fauna of the American Southwest is a must-see, full of breathtaking visual splendor and theatrical magic. Open to grades 1-12. $5 ticket price. Scholarship available.

The Nutcracker Education Shows
December 6 & 7, 2017

Caldwell, ID – Jewett Auditorium, College of Idaho

There’s a joyful magic at every performance as hundreds of aspiring young dancers join the Company on stage, while the Sugar Plum Fairy transports all to the Snow Kingdom and the Land of the Sweets. You’ll cheer and boo at the battle with the not-so-scary Mouse King and his Pirate Henchmice, as Clara and The Nutcracker win the day. Celebrate your holiday season with a marvelous journey to Eugene Ballet’s The Nutcracker.

Day at the Ballet:  This package opportunity for intermediate and advanced level students from around the region includes a master class taught by Eugene Ballet dancers and staff, lunch (provided by Cornucopia) and a ticket to a Eugene Ballet performance.  Offered for Mowgli, Pink Martini and Peer Gynt.

Young Audience Education Eugene Ballet engages young audiences through 50 minute education shows offered both in Eugene at the Hult Center and while on tour.  This season Eugene Ballet is pleased to co-present MOMIX: Opus Cactus, sponsored by The Hult Center for the Performing Arts and City of Eugene, Oct 31, 2017.
