Artistic Director Toni Pimble’s new full-length ballet of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen is a heart-warming tale set in a wintery land where Gerda uses the power of love to rescue Kay from the Snow Queen’s cold-hearted influence. Toni’s powerful choreography is set to new music commissioned from award-winning Portland-based composer Kenji Bunch, and performed by Orchestra Next. Jonna Hayden’s dramatic costumes inspired by Alexander McQueen and Nadya Geras-Carson’s otherwordly sets create visual magic as the Company takes us on this journey through the frozen emotional darkness, the loss of innocence, and ultimately, the joy that is found when love conquers all.
