Mark grew up in Hawaii and began his early training with Maria Jose Beltran, Paul Maley, Pamela Taylor-Tongg, and Daniel Nelson. He continued his training at the North Carolina School of the Arts where he graduated high school and began his BFA in Classical Ballet with a minor in Modern Dance. Mark started his professional career at age 19 as a freelance artist and joined the Eugene Ballet Company at 20 where he has been for the last eight seasons. Mark has performed in many well-known classics, in George Balanchine’s Rubies, and in contemporary works such as Stanton Welch’s Bruiser, Heather Maloy’s Stranger, and Salvatore Aiello’s Journey. He was also featured as the Head Wrangler in Agnes De Mille’s Rodeo. Mark began dancing principal roles with Eugene Ballet Company in 2012 as the lead male in Toni Pimble’s Rite of Spring and the Cavalier in The Nutcracker. He also danced the lead role of Don Jose alongside his wife (Danielle Tolmie) in Pimble’s Carmen. Last season Mark performed the principal role of Prince Desire in The Sleeping Beauty, the title role of Jay Gatsby in Pimble’s The Great Gatsby and was featured in Amy Seiwert’s White Noise.
